RANCHI, March 21: The simultaneous discharge of four rockets in Tunchil in Jharkhand, witnessed on Friday, resulted in panic among the people leading to a fire in a kiosk.Kohinoor (Ranchi) Correspondent-Tunchil FIRs Rachna Kumbhare reported on Saturday that the rocket was fired at a police vehicle. As a result, one policeman was wounded in the firing. Several people were arrested for the firing.
This is the second firing of rockets in Tunchil in the past one week.
On February 22, five people were arrested for firing three rockets at the police and a vehicle belonging to the deputy superintendent of police.
The Congress has not been able to add any more seats to its winning streak in the Assembly elections, with not even a single seat for the party in West Bengal, four for the party in Maharashtra, two in Delhi, and a third in the ongoing Tripura elections. The Congress barely managed to keep its tally of seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, winning 27, and according to the advance trends it may bag only a single seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Congress is trying to be the main opposition in the state, supported by the JD(S).
On the one hand, the party is claiming that the polls were rigged, while on the other, the party has been busy trying to infuse much needed credibility in the state and elsewhere. While the election campaign has mostly been focused on the current chief minister Siddaramaiah and BJP president and former CM Baburam Bhattarai, who is the party's face in the state, party general secretary and former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily has been making trips to various cities and trying to explain what the Congress stands for.
Congress leaders are even trying to connect with people by associating with NGOs. Party chief Rahul Gandhi spoke at the 14th World Economic Forum in Davos on Friday.
